I got the following error when doing the integration:
The service pack level of the source is the same as it was before integration began. Make sure you have the proper access rights to the folder you're attempting to slipstream to.
Here is my log file:

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong (e:\ is a partition on my HD)? Sorry if it is a newbie question....I have tried running it a couple of times but get the same error each time.

Hmmm... are you positive you have write permissions there? Hmmm... maybe try putting the integrator somewhere else on your drive that has no spaces and let me know if that works. Where is your SP2 file located?
does it seem like it even attempts to slipstream it?

I definitely have permissions there. I tried moving it to E:\ direct. It definitely seems to try and integrate the service pack...there is a pop-up window in the foreground that shows it processing files.
Is there anyway of checking if it actually has done the update anyway?

If it did the update you would see the updated IDENT files on the root.
WIN51IP.SP2
So you moved the RVMIntegrator.exe file to your E dirive so that it had no spaces in it's path? And the SP2.exe was in a path with no spaces as well?
This sounds like a tricky problem. :(
It doesn't look like it integrated the file because if it did the integrator would have detected it as SP2. Would you post your integrator.ini file for me so I can see all of your settings? You can also go to the advanced tab and select "Show external Windows" and "Advanced debug Mode".
This time when you run the integrator it will pop up a bunch of dos boxes. It will not close the dos boxes until you close them manually... and then it will go on to the next step. Let me know if any of the dos boxes look weird.
Also... you manually copied the files to the E drive... did you copy the entire disk or did you only copy the I386 dir? I'm not sure but if you did not copy the IDENT files over it may be possible that the SP2 file does not recognise it as a valid windows XP destination.
Try this... For your source choose your original WinXP disk... and for the destination choose E:\winxp.
This way the integrator will copy the files needed for you. To ensure that all of the needed files are copied.
Then post back any info you have found.

I did as you recommended and put all the files in C:\temp (no spaces) and then used the cd as the source. It extracts the stuff in the 386 directory to what looks like a temporary drive on c:\ (eg c:\85726e897ie987dh923604j) after the line "SlipStreaming SP2" in the log. Once it finished extracting to this directory it pause for a moment, deletes the directory and then moves on.
I have attached the .ini file (as .txt).
I did the "Show external Windows" and "Advanced debug Mode" but nothing looked weird in the DOS boxes....I stopped the integration after it failed the SP2 step.

I am trying it now using nLite and noticed that it popped up a window stating that some hotfixes had already been applied to the winxp I was trying to slipstream to and they would have to be removed before slipstreaming. I clicked OK and it seems to be working....not sure if that helps.

You should always start with a clean source. You should not use a source that has already had hotfixes integrated using the /Integrate switch from microsoft. the reason for this is because you can encounter issues with your finished disc.

Thanks..That is probably the crux of the problem. nLite seemed to work at slipstreaming SP2. Now I will try the integrator to add the patches etc.
Thanks again.

I have the same issue as well. Im using 1.4.3 version. I created a folder and called it winxp. Saved my winxp disc to it by selecting all and pasting them to the folder. I created a folder and called it winxpsp2 and used the integrater to slipstream sp2 and rvmupdate pack to this folder. In the process it put up the eroor listed at the begging of this post. Not sure why its doing it but I tried on my wifes machine also only this time using the root directory. Same results as on mine. I used regular windows disc with no sp on her machine. Mine is sp1a. Any help here is greatly appreciated and at any rate your doing some awesome work here. Thanx in advance.

Look insde your i386 dir on your sp1a disk and chack for a dir called svcpack. If it has this folder try this...
Delete that folder and delete the file svcpack.in_ in the i386 dir and try again. I've never tried this but it may work.

Jason_LA - I had the EXACT same problem that you did. I also have an OEM disk (Dell). I got the same message from RyanVM Integrator when I asked it to slipstream SP2. I saw the dialog box saying it was slipstreaming SP2, which was up for a few seconds, and then I got the message:
"The service pack level of the source is the same as it was before integration began."
When I tried to slipstream SP2 with nLite, I got a message saying:
"Previous Hotfixes have been detected. You won't be able to Slipstream new Hotfixes without first removing the previous ones from the installation. Do you want nLite to remove the previous hotfixes to enable proper Slipstreaming?"
I clicked on Yes, and it slipstreamed SP2 to my Windows XP without any complaints.
Then, I used RyanVM Integrator to integrate RyanVM 2.1.8. It ran without any problems. I haven't tried the CD yet though. Did you wind up creating your CD this way (i.e. SP2 slipsteam with nLite and RyanVM 2.1.8 integration with RyanVM Integrator)? If so, did your CD work okay?
Look insde your i386 dir on your sp1a disk and chack for a dir called svcpack. If it has this folder try this...
Delete that folder and delete the file svcpack.in_ in the i386 dir and try again. I've never tried this but it may work.
In my XP OEM disk, I have the i386\svcpack directory. It contains the following files:
Q306676.EXE
Q308387.EXE
Q308402.EXE
Q310601.EXE
Q311889.EXE
Q313596.EXE
Q315000.EXE
Q315403.EXE
Q316134.EXE
Q316246.EXE
Q316253.EXE
Q317277.EXE
SP1.CAT
All of the above fixes were eventually added as part of SP1/SP1a (except I couldn't confirm if Q310601 and Q316I246 were part of SP1/SP1a).
I don't have a file named svcpack.in_, but I have a file named svcpack.inf. Its contents are:
[Version]
Signature="$Windows NT$"
BuildNumber=2600
MajorVersion=5
MinorVersion=1
[SetupData]
CatalogSubDir="i386\svcpack"
[ProductCatalogsToInstall]
sp1.cat
[SetupHotfixesToRun]
Q315403.EXE /q /n /z
Q306676.EXE /q /n /z
Q317277.EXE /q /n /z
Q316134.EXE /q /n /z
Q315000.EXE /q /n /z
Q313596.EXE /q /n /z
Q316253.EXE /q /n /z
Q308387.EXE /q /n /z
Q308402.EXE /q /n /z
Q311889.EXE /q /n /z
Q310601.EXE /q /n /z
Anyway, is it worth trying to remove svcpack and svcpack.inf and slipstreaming SP2 with RyanVM Integrator? Or should I just use nLite (however, we're not suppossed to use RyanVM Intergrator on a source that has already been nLite-d...).
By the way, I tried your suggestion on not having paths with spaces in them.
Thanks,

So, I removed i386/svcpack and i386/svcpak.inf (there was no svcpack.in_) from the copy of my original Windows XP OEM. I then ran integrate, and during integration, I got the message:
File Not Found! - svcpack.inf file created
svcpack.inf file created
However, integration proceeded and it slipstreamed SP2 properly.

Hmmm... maybe try putting the integrator somewhere else on your drive that has no spaces
Thanks,
I had the same problem. I removed the spaces from the names of all folders involved (update pack, sp2, integrator, source, destination) and now it works!

v1.5 fixes the spaces issues. You can get the beta here on this forum.
