Hi Friends, I have this big problem, this is the first time using the Integrator
Every thing is ok but when it reaches the compressing stage it takes hours

is that normal?

Thanks:confused:

Hi Black Light. When you say that it takes "hours", is that for real? Or do you mean that is just takes like 45 mins or something (which is also really slow!) ?

Compression speed is totally system dependent. If your out of real physical memory space, then the process will use the HD to help it out, and that is many times slower than the process running in free system memory. CPU speed is also important here too, so if you have some other process taking up 90% CPU time, then it will take hours to compress the files.

What are your system specs?

My system is an AMD dual core with 2GB of mem, and it takes about 600 seconds to compress files from start to finnish. It used to be much faster, but the process slowed down by some 200 seconds or so with the last version of the Integrator.

stimpy is correct. It is system dependent. So if you have a slow computer it will take much longer. It is impossible to make this process any faster. You may find the new integrator taking a little longer... but that is because it compresses more files in I386 to optimize your disk. But... the new integrator has a way of Recompressing your addons so that they are pre-compressed before integration. So if you integrate multiple times it will save a lot of time. Also the new integrator does driver.cab cacheing if you select it in the Advanced tab. This will save you much more time. Because the part that takes a long time is driver.cab. So if you integrate to create multiple disks it will save you Hours of time. Beta24 is to be online today and it also has many more enhancements to driver.cab cacheing. [Obsolete_Files] and [Obsolete_Entries] are also MUCH faster. In my tests it was taking almost a minute to perform... but after the changes it only took 2 seconds. ;)

THank You so much friends, Really sorry Progdvb was running hidden in systray taking 90% of memory.

The new integrator takes only 30 min to finish

AMD dual core with 1GB MEM

Again Thank You for quick reply.
